Hi,

Can I say the followings:

The weather became windy;
It became windy.

Is "the wind picked up" more natural and common?

Thanks a bunch.

    “It became windy” sounds more natural than “the weather became windy” Do you have the full sentence/context?
    “The wind picked up” suggests that one was already aware that there was a breeze / light wind.

    Thank you very much.

    For example, just now it was calm, but gradually you can feel the breeze and it has become stronger and stronger.
    How do you describe this change?
