How would you translate it?
la tourte au pigeon sauce raison ?
I'm not sure of "pigeon"
I think pigeon is OK or perhaps ramier ? But I'm not at all sure about raison!
Take care - currant has so many meanings in English. Unqualified, as here, it should mean raisin sec de Corinthe but that's not a very English sauce. Just make sure it's not redcurrant sauce: groseille rouge which is far more frequent with English game pies.
I made a mistake, actually it is "raisin".
Is it possible that it refers to "groseille rouge" even if it's written "currant" and not "redcurrant"?
Ou était-il écrit? L’auteur n’était probablement pas anglais. Surement il a du être ‘redcurrant sauce’
The book is written by Nancy Springer, she's american. It tells the adventures of Elona Holmes, Sherlock Holmes' sister.
OK- je ne parle pas américain et je ne comprends leur cuisine non plus - il faut attendre des renseignements d'un américanophone/phage
