there's no shame in failing, only in giving up

Hi all, does my sentence below work?

There's no shame in failing, only in giving up.

I want to say that there is shame only in giving up, but not in trying and failing. But if I reorder the words in my sentence, I get the following which doesn't seem to make sense:

There's no shame only in giving up. (plus There's no shame in failing)

The first sentence works for me. If you want to reorder it, try
There is only shame in giving up.
But, of course, it becomes a lot less clear.
