I know this is a very basic question, but I'm unsure of how to translate this (maybe because of the word order). How would you say "This is a picture of my dog" in Chinese? Would it be 这是我(的?)狗的照片?
(although in English, "a picture of someone" (=describing who's in the picture) can be different than "someone's picture"... (=a picture belonging to someone))
Thanks! :)

    这是我的狗的照片 is correct.
It is not ambiguous as normally a dog cannot possess the picture.
的 better not be dropped as 我狗 "I dog" sounds not cool.
    这是他的照片 is ambiguous though.

    HI yue,

    I would say "这(就)是我狗狗的照片'
    就 here is optional.

    Or "照片上的是我狗狗",

In my opinion, these two sounds better. I hope these tips help :)
