"This is" / "He is"

    If introducing Mr. A to Mr. B I would always say 'This is...'
    I was taught that it's ill-mannered to refer to someone as 'he' or 'she' in these circumstances.

    I was never taught anything about manners, but to me it's just completely unnatural to introduce someone as "he is" or "she is" in English. I would always introduce someone with "This is Mr. X." If you want to add more information about the person, then you can go ahead and use "he" or "she"- "This is Mr. X. He is my next-door neighbor...etc."
