Dear colleages,

I'm really confused with the meaning of 'jives' in this sentence (within an alternative medicine study guide):

"Tension of the tissues on the right side, which causes obstruction of the foramen of Monro, can cause dyslexia. Release the tension, re-establish the fluid flow through the foramen and the dyslexia improves. This jives with our experience that dyslexia relates to right temporal bone restriction"

See definition B2 of 'to jibe' in the WR English-English dictionary.

It means 'to agree', 'to correspond', etc. I have been told that 'jibe' is the correct word, but I too use 'jive' like this.
