Hi,

Is this sentence grammatically correct?

"This made me overlook submitting the guide for review."

The context is that I have forgotten to submit a document for review and I need to include this sentence in an email.

I feel this is okay.

The grammar is correct, but I wonder about the word choice. It would be more idiomatic to replace overlook with what you have in your explanatory sentence: "forget to submit." You usually overlook a thing, not an action, at least in this sense.

I assume "this" refers to something that you have already explained.

I guess you are right. I will keep it simple and use "forget" instead. I felt we can camouflage "forget" by using "overlook"!

    Thanks!
