Hi there,

Can you please check my sentence and tell me whether THROUGH and SUCH AS are the right words for this context?

Anorexia nervosa may cause damage to the cardiovascular system THROUGH arrhythmias, anemia or electrolytic diseases SUCH AS the alteration of sodium or potassium.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think that sodium or potassium can be altered - they are elements. I think you might mean something like:

Anorexia nervosa may cause damage to the cardiovascular system through arrhythmias, anemia; or electrolyte disorders such the disruption of sodium or potassium levels.

Don't take my word for the technical details though.

Is it correct that there is no "as" after such?

"... Electrolyte disorders such the disruption of sodium..."
