Hello,

je voudrais connaître la signification de thuggish dans la phrase suivante : "He is not merely a thuggish clown like Uganda's Idi Admin" (The Economist - 31st of March 2007).

Thanks in advance,

Ollo

Thank you Pheelineerie for your welcome.

Of course, I should have looked for "Thug", stupid I am :|

It perfectly answers my question, thank you. By the way, I always struggle to use "merely". I always understand the sentences when I read them but to reuse it by myself is almost impossible, would you have a tip on that?

Of course! Feel free to start a new thread on it and we'll see what we can do to help :)
