thumbtack pinned to / on a board (or both?)

Hi there,

There's a new image site called Pinterest where you pin images to virtual boards. Do you then tell someone that you've pinned their recipe, say, TO your board, or ON your board. I tend to think that both work, but would like your input. For some reason because the pin is a thumbtack, I have doubts about "pin on," since it doesn't stick to the board, put rather pierces it. What do you think?

Thank you!

Hullo Susanna. Well, it's not the thumbtack you're pinning: it's the recipe. I've pinned a recipe on / to / on to / onto your board all work for me.
