Hi,

What is the exact meaning of "time-true" in the following sentences?

As the RANS equations fail to simulate massive separation, even when simulations are performed in a time-true sense, and large eddy simulations (LES) are unaffordable, hybrid LES/RANS approaches, such as detached eddy simulation (DES), represent an attractive compromise between computing costs and accuracy.

That is very complicated technical language you are reading there...

"even when simulations are performed in a time-true sense"
means that the simulations are run for the same period of time as the original operation, presumably so that any time affected behaviours can be properly studied and evaluated. If the original operation took one hour, the simulation would also take one hour.
