Hello everybody,

I have a constant problem with to allow and to enable.
For instance, in further sentence, do I have to use the -ing form or not ?

This computer code will allow (or enable ?) to approach / approaching in-situ conditions.
Thank you all in advance

    Neither.

Allow and enable both must have an indirect object in order to sound like English and not Traduit-du. Alternatively, turn the rest of the sentence into the passive.

This computer code will allow (or enable) you to approach in-situ conditions.
