to be connected (socially)

    I have to translate the question, "Do you feel that you are more socially connected to your community because of your experience...?" for a survey of parents of preschoolers. Does this make sense: "¿Se siente que está más conectado socialmente a la comunidad por su experiencia?" The WR dictionary lists "tener enchufe" for an informal translation of "to be well-connected," but I have never heard this and wasn't sure if it was appropriate here. (I picture someone with his/her finger in an electrical socket...) ¡Muchas gracias de antemano por la ayuda y las sugerencias!

    Podría decirse de la siguiente forma:

    ¿Se siente usted más conectado/ligado socialmente a la comunidad por su experiencia?

    This is my suggestion:

    "Siente que debido/gracias a su experiencia, está más conectado/ligado socialmente a la comunidad"
