to be wished away (wish away)

    how would you try to say "wish away" in the context of wanting something to cease to exist..?

    Perhaps you do have the complete sentence?
    Oherwise, it could be something like:
    'désirer que quelque chose disparaisse''

    salut! yes, the sentence is as follows:

    "the impact of war on the collective psyche is too deep-seated to be wished away"

    Ah that is just the kind of so expressive english-specific expression I like. No equivalent in French, but my try would be:
    L'impact de la guerre est trop ancré dans l'inconscient collectif pour être conjuré par un simple souhait
