Hi, I'd like to know if the verb "to host" which means "to be the host of or for" (taken from WR) refers to host like guest or like owner of the house. Host as noun as both these meanings, so I'm a bit confused. Thank you very much for your help.
The host is the one who is responsible for the event, either financially or personally, and is providing it for others. A host invites guests to a party. He or she hosts the party. I'm not sure I quite understand your question, but we don't say that he or she "guested" a party.
