to make something fall off the table

Hello,
I realize that the question I am going to ask you is rather strange, but I will go ahead. If there were an empty glass on the table and I accidentally make it fall off the table, can I say "While I was ironing my trousers, I tipped my glass over/knocked it down/over? Which one of these fits the context? I am not sure I can use any of these, because the glass falls off the table. If I tipped it over, it would be in horizontal position but on the table. What do you suggest?

Thank you

  • Hello.

Can I say I dropped the glass off the table?
Do i need to use knocked the glass off the table?
Is there any other way of saying it? (When it is an accident)

If you dropped it, you were holding it in your hand and then let go.

I bumped the glass and it fell off the table.

If you are holding the glass, it is in your hand. It is not on the table. It cannot fall off the table if it is not on the table.

    Thanks a lot. I think i didn't describe the situation correctly 😞
The glass was on the table and then to drink juice i picked it up but it slipped of. So technically it fell off the table. But it was in my hands also!🤔

It can't have been fully in your hands and fully on the table. You knocked it off the table while trying to pick it up or you picked it up and then dropped it.
