Could you explain me the bold parts?

It means, I think, to move the furniture from one side to other side.

    You're on the right track, Learning_Grenglish, but it's not just moving furniture from one side to the other. It's just moving furniture. If I move the coffee table six inches and put the couch where the chair was and the chair where the end table was and put the end table in the attic, I'm moving furniture about.
