"Based on tested classroom experience, this text offers practical help to students of composition and literature, with a flexible system that promotes (an?) informed study of literary forms and some intelligent of good themes".

    I agree with timpeac.
But the sentence has other peculiarities.

"Based on tested classroom experience, ..."
I wonder what that means? How do you test experience? Maybe "tested" should be left out.

"... this text offers practical help to students of composition and literature, with a flexible system that promotes (an?) informed study of literary forms and ..."
    OK

"... some intelligent of good themes".
I have no idea what this means. Perhaps something is missing.

Thanks Panj, I read right past that "of good themes" - I read it as "and"! Goes to show how the brain glosses over the unexpected :)
