To pull funding for the project

    Hey there,

    Could someone confirm my attempt at this sentence ?

    "The project has since been delayed and relaunched a number of times, with human rights groups protesting its construction and the EU pulling funding for the project."

    My try : "Le projet a été repoussé et relancé bon nombre de fois car des organisations des Droits de l'homme condamnent sa construction et l'Union européenne suspend son financement."

    C'est drôle, je comprends l'inverse avec "pull"! l'UE finance le projet, mais il est vrai que ce n'est pas logique avec l'ensemble de la phrase ... :confused:

    C'est exactement pourquoi je pose la question. J'aurais dit naturellement : "...et l'Union européenne finance le projet," mais la phrase n'a plus aucun sens. Peut-être "pull funding" signifie ici "pull off the funding" ?

    Pull the funding means "couper le financement".
