Salve a tutti, volevo condividere con voi questo mio dubbio, riguardo questo tema: To scratch an existence.
La frase è: at the bottom of the acting profession, as is still the case, many journeyman actors (in the Elizabethan period, so four centuries ago) would have been scratchnig an existence, and living on the margins of poverty.
Ora, il senso l'ho capito, però mi piacerebbe trovare un modo più consono per tradurre "would have been scratching an existence)..
