Hello,

can the above be traslated as ''esperar até que os frutos aparecerem''? Or are there better alternatives?

The whole sentence is ''or else, wait until the fruits appear'' [to identify what plant it is]. My attempt is ''Ou então, esperar até que os frutos aparecerem''.

Thank you!

... ou então, esperar até que os frutos (ou as frutas) apareçam.

... ou então, esperar até o aparecimento dos frutos (ou das frutas).

    Context would help.

Thank you Joca for the correction!
The context is to wait until the fruit has formed to be able to thoroughly identify the type of tree (the writer knows the species but is not sure exactly which variety it is)

In this case ''frutos'' should be correct (instead of frutas) as it is not necessarily an edible fruit. Correct?

I think it would be more common "esperar até que dê frutos".
Although "até que os frutos aparecem" is easly understandable, I think it isn't a thing I would say.
And yes here "frutos" is correct here.
