Hello everybody!

More than once he’s had to call them up to remind them that he actually needs some of these medications to, you know, STAY ALIVE and could they consider getting off their duffs and sending them?

Does the marked fragment mean in order to, you know, STAY ALIVE and could they consider being lazy and doing something?

Thank you. The source: http://www.dustbury.com/archives/3238

The sentence doesn't actually make sense, but you're basically right, except for this part: "consider being lazy." That should be "consider not being lazy" or you could end the sentence with "...could they stop being lazy and send them?"
