Too Short To Get Serious

< Previous | Next >

- Come on man! Life is too short to get serious.

- Did I use the right phrase here "is too short to get serious"?

Thanks a lot!

I'll tag along with Cropje, that the sentence needs more context for the purpose of helping you. Generally, you question the seriousness of a situation after it has alread gotten serious.

You're on the right track. When someone has made a big fuss about a trivial situation or is overreacting to something - in order to calm them down or inject some realism we often say:

    "life's too short" or
    "get serious"

but these terms wouldn't be combined in the way you wrote it.
    Hope this helps.
