too simple to understand

When We want to say the teacher did not give enough explanation about some question, It will sound weird if we say "The explanation is too simple for us to understand." Right?

What if we replace "simple" with "brief"? Is it much clearer?

    'Too brief' is good. I might say 'The explanation doesn't have enough information...'.
