In a accounting context, how to translate total assessment ?

- valeur totale seems weird to me...
- montant total is more common but does it have the same meaning ?

Thanks in advance !

Ca dépend... Assessment de quoi ? D'un actif ? D'une immobilisation ? Du goodwill ?

    Good questions.

total assessment refers to "the total amount due to the regular budget (including prior years' unpaid assessments)"

    Total des contributions attendues ?

In the given context, "assessment" is a tax concept (i.e., a levy [=prélèvement] against some unit in favour of the regular budget, an amount owed to the regular budget, including unpaid levies of prior periods). So I would suggest " prélèvement global " or " prélèvement total ".
