Hello everyone,

From the TV series Abandoned Engineering, Season 6, Episode 11.

"Towards the northern end of the peninsula, an old light house provides a commanding view across this baffling complex and hints at its beginnings."

What's the meaning of "towards" in "Towards the northern end of the peninsula"?
In other words, what's the difference between "at the northern end of the peninsula" and "towards the northern end of the peninsula"?

My guess is that "towards the northern end of the peninsula" implies "closer to the northern end of the peninsula"

Thank you.

At suggests a precision that towards does not. If you tell me that a lighthouse is towards the northern end of the peninsula, I will believe that it is somewhere in the general region of the northern end of the peninsula.
