Hi, may I ask you a little help?

Is "Trespassing" a crime?

context: to detectives are speaking about a criminal:

- How can we arrest him? We have no charges...
- Trespassing!
- Have you seen him trespassing?
- Yes at a construction site. It had a "no trespassing" sign...


Probably is just ironic, but I'd like to be sure...

    Non è mai troppo tardi;).

    Aggiungo, per certi contesti, "violazione di domicilio" = "trepassing" = "unlawful entry".
