    THREE-DOUBLE TWO-TRIPLE SIX-SEVEN ?

    Is that correct?
    Quite correct.

    But not the best way to read out a number, in my opinion.

    In some places there are agreed ways of grouping digits in phone numbers, and it can be very confusing if you do it differently. For example, in London up until the 1980s we used to have this pattern: 123 4567. You would say that as 'one-two-three, four-five six-seven'. But a French person might say 'twelve, thirty-four, fifty-six, seven.'

    If you want to be understood across this sort of language and culture difference, I would recommend not using 'double' or 'triple' at all. Just read out the numbers. If they are printed with spacing, use that to guide your pauses. Otherwise, give a slight pause after every two digits, like this: 'three-two, two-six, six-six, seven.'

    Hola Crom;
    Usually you would say " Three, two, two, Triple six, Seven"
    If you say double-tripple..most people would go "Say What"??

    Thanks a lot, Rob.

    I know that you group numbers here is quite the same, but I forget to write it that way.

    322 6667

    But there is still the same, triple six...

    Thanks

    crom;
    It doesn't matter how they are grouped..
    Then you would say... three two two (pause) tripple six seven.

    You can be understood if you are going to say those numbers in that manner. It would be better if you would say it one digit at a time to avoid confusion.
