does anyone know the meaning of trovante, as a noun within the context of demolition work: 'trovanti and ruins of existing masonry'.
Many thanks for any help.

Within the context of civil engineering, a trovante is simply "something that you find" (unexpectedly).

Suppose you are boring a hole in a layer of clay; suddenly you find a stone: that is a trovante.

Suppose you are excavating a trench and come across a bomb: that is a trovante.
