Tug of war. There is a picture, where two group are playing tug of war. I have been asked to identify what the people are doing.

My ans is =

Anil and his friends are trying to pull their opponents over the line with a tug rope.

Anil and his friends are pulling his opponents over the line.

Have I explained it well.

    I think you explained it well. Anil and his friends is a plural subject so you need their opponents.
    You could say that they are tugging their friends over the line (with a rope).

    We can't say if you have explained it well without seeing the picture. But if Anil's team is indeed winning, your second sentence could work if you changed "his" to "their".
    Anil and his friends are pulling histheir opponents over the line.
