Turn by turn or by turns or alternatively

I am telling my brother the basic rules of snakes & ladders.
I tell him about filling the die.I say:
We roll the die alternatively/turn by turn/by turns.
What should I use in my case?

Thank you

"Alternatively" is not the correct word. "Alternate" is about taking turns, "alternative" is about making choices.

You could say, “We each roll the dice alternately”.
But this is quite formal and you would find these words perhaps in printed instructions, but as Keith says, in normal conversation with your brother you would say, “We take turns to roll the dice.”
