turning point in the relationship

Hello,

I am attempting to write about the 1905 law concerning the separation of church and state. I wanted to say that it was a turning point in the relationship between the church and the state. Is it possible to write

L'introduction de cette loi est entrée dans l'histoire française comme étant un tournant dans les rapports entre l'église et l'état...

I was a little unsure as to whether you could say "un tournant dans..." and whether it should be un tournant de instead.

Any ideas? Thanks xx

Thank you Gutenberg. Does that mean that the grammar is ok in this sentence?

I think no native French would think there is a mistake at all.

Nevertheless, there is a more idiomatic expression for that which is:

L'introduction de cette loi dans l'histoire française a marqué un tournant dans les rapports entre l'église et l'état...

And indeed it was a real turning point! I would even say a breaking-off.
