‘Our roots are there’: Ukrainians cross front line for home​


My best translation
  • „Unsere Wurzeln sind dort“: Ukrainer überschreiten die Frontlinie in Richtung Heimat

I'm more unsure about the second part here (after the colon) than the first part. Would überschreiten be the best verb to use when referring to crossing the front line as opposed to überqueren or über die Frontlinie gehen? And how does in Richtung Heimat sound compared to nach Hause? All help is appreciated. Vielen Dank im Voraus.
