Bonjour,
Je cherche à traduire pour un guide touristique destiné aux Américains, "une bâtisse ancienne en pierres".
Pourriez-vous m'aider svp? Merci d'avance !!

    Hello Keith,
Actually there are several buildings. They can be as old as the XVth century and the "newest" being from the begining of the XIXth.

Even though "bâtisse" literally means "building", the English word may not sound very appealing to potential buyers, whereas in French "bâtisse" hints at an old but also large building with good potential - provided you have the money for the work with goes with the purchase of such properties.

Personally, I would go for more specific terms, depending on the said building. "large old stone farmhouse" is one possibility.
