"Elle s’est injectée une version corrompue de son propre sérum."

Bonsoir. Does it mean "a corrupted version of her own serum" in medical terms?

Or "a tampered one of her own serum" -- I mean, someone maliciously tampered with her medication?

    @Michelvar

    If the context is that someone was trying to assassinate her, then is it fine to consider "corrompue" as "tamperd with"?

    It's just that I'm not certain what to think of this word "corrompue". Thank you.
