This is from a passage by Stephen Fry about his experience as a celebrity who failed to be recognized by the public. Can someone explain the meaning of "unthreatening photogeneity"?

Why is it "unthreatening"?

It means he looks good in a photograph and he seems non-threatening.

Some good-looking men can seem threatening to other men, as they might suspect that the good looks will woo his wife/girlfriend away.

But some good-looking men just seem like they might make a good drinking buddy despite their good looks. In my generation, it was Tom Selleck (among others), whereas Sean Connery did not seem like a drinking buddy. (He was way too sexy and thus was threatening. :D)
