upgrade into perfection

I am writing a review of the movie Goodbye,Lenin and would like to know if the marked part is formulated correctly:

Alex and his old friend Denis are ready to upgrade their elaborate lies to perfection by building a sort of makeshift TV studio where they produce explanatory fake newscasts, such as those about the Coca-Cola formula invented by East German workers or Honecker’s permission for West German refugees to enter the East as a token of generosity.

Thank you.

Miriam, it sounds fine to me!

Of course, it is an example of "creative" use of English, rather than a textbook example of standard English.

I think it works well in the context given.
