Friends, what is the meaning and pronunciation of لینڈی in the phrase دوغلے لینڈی ڈاگ?
Thanks.:)

  • lendi means droppings e.g. bakre ke lendi (goat droppings). So, this is probably an expression used to insult somebody, though I have never used it!

    You two-faced dog's droppings.

^ I agree with the meaning but in this case it is rather leNDii Daag (kuttaa). leNDii kuttaa is a stray dog, a street dog. doGhlaa in this case is a mongrel at best but it can and does mean "double-faced" too.

As this is meant to be an insult, دوغلے آوارہ کتا half breed stray dog appeals to me, but I like Khaanabadosh SaaHib would not want to use it!

Neither I! Especially that it would have to be put into the vocative, like اے] دوغلے آوارہ کتے] or otherwise تو دوغلا آوارہ کتا ہے!۔ or وہ دوغلا آوارہ کتا ہے.

Here it is اے] دوغلے آوارہ کتے ] in effect, because it is a direct retort to the speaker's interlocutor.
