If I make a translation it is something like: My best and loving friend (saheli)"Salam Shaq". But it does not carry any meaning "شق" means crack or incision. Which is the context?

It is hardly the point, marrish SaaHib. I am learning Urdu, and this is how a saheli greets her saheli. And almost all the specimen letters in this book end with والسلام, so there is no point either in looking for the equivalent of 'regards', 'best wishes' and so on, don't you agree? Tamil letters too do not end with regards or best wishes. That simply won't be idiomatic.
