Friends, is it salaam shauq or salaam-e-shauq here:
میری سب سے اچھی اور پیاری سہیلی سلام شق
And what is the idiomatic English translation?
Thanks.:)

If I make a translation it is something like: My best and loving friend (saheli)"Salam Shaq". But it does not carry any meaning "شق" means crack or incision. Which is the context?

But I don't know if it is idiomatic in English :)
It is hardly the point, marrish SaaHib. I am learning Urdu, and this is how a saheli greets her saheli. And almost all the specimen letters in this book end with والسلام, so there is no point either in looking for the equivalent of 'regards', 'best wishes' and so on, don't you agree? Tamil letters too do not end with regards or best wishes. That simply won't be idiomatic.:D

میری سب سے اچھی اور پیاری سہیلی
    سلامِ شوق

    My best, adorable friend
    Greeting/s of love and yearning

    And idiomatically, "Longingly yours", perhaps.
