Dear Foreros,

What would you call an electrician in Urdu? Please don't say Electrician as English loanwords can be employed as a given. Would bjilii-kaar be fit for use, just as seesa-kaar is employed for a plumber? I have come across taar-baaz which would be reminiscent to saying wire technician or wire-whizz.

Regards,
Sheikh

I've never heard this used before.

If "electrician" isn't being used as a loanword, then بجلی کا کام کرنے والا (bijli ka kaam karne vaala), or just بجلی والا (bijli vaala) would most likely be used.

Keen to hear other informed alternatives to the English loanword electrician. Do any official terms exist as they do for plumbers and other tradesmen?
