Dear Foreros,

I was wondering what you call a door-maker in the languages above. Google translate returns darb-saaz for Farsi. I would imagine either dar-saaz/taraash or darwaaza-saaz/taraash would be adequate for Urdu. What do you guys think?

Regards,
Sheikh.

    darwaaza-saaz/taraash
From Persian point of view تراش "to turn/carve/shave wood/metal" is one function used in making(ساختن) a door, having said that not all doors have parts that need turning, but تراشیدن can be used for decorative parts. So dar/darb-saaz دربساب/درساب is the correct option.

    Urdu:
As explained by PersoLatin, however, تراش would not be appropriate for this context.

I think you could just say darwaaza-waalaa. Maybe darwaazaa banaane waalaa. (Hindi)
