Hi!

The following occurs in a translation by Miraji of a poem by Edgar Allen Poe.

This reads:

lekin afsos kih mujh meN nahiiN, ab ziist ke wo ???-e-hasiiN,
wo shama3 bujhii, wo nuur miTaa, ab kuchh bhii nahiiN, ab kuchh bhii nahiiN

As you can tell, I'm having trouble making out what word ??? is :)

The full poem, titled swarg-baashii se, is on Rekhta [Kulliyat-e-Meeraji | Rekhta, pg. 1008--9 of the eReader]. It appears to be a loose translation of Poe's "To One in Paradise" [Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore - Works - Poems - To One in Paradise], but it's loose enough a translation that knowing this doesn't help much. Perhaps it's a word that means something like "ambition," since "ambition" occurs in Poe's original in approximately the right place, but I can't think of any word that means "ambition" that ??? could be...
