Hello all!
I am wondering, after watching some Urdu-dubbed shows of Usman (shown in Pakistan), does the Urdu pronunciation of "kh" (as in "khaan," meaning "mine," for example "sone ki khaan": gold mine) differ from that in Hindi? Whenever I hear "khaan" in the PTV show, it sounds to me as if they were almost saying "kaan," which to me means an ear, not a mine (or, which, given that it is a Turkish show, first takes me to "blood," and then my confused mind returns to the mine in question).
Please do not sidetrack the conversation into discussing "Khaan" ("xaan"), that is, the Khan in, for example, Aamir Khan's name.
