English is my second language and I'm teaching an Essay class. The other day I was correcting my student's essay and wanted to comment that the organization(Introduction,Body and Conclusion) of his essay was taking shape. So I wrote:

"Your essay is taking shape in the organization."

Is it correct to say it? I wasn't sure if I should put "in" instead of "with". Or is there anything else?

You can't go wrong with, "Your essay is taking shape in terms of organization."

I would say something like:-

-The way you structure your essays is improving
-The structure of your essays is improving
-You are (getting) better at organising (or structuring) your essays
