    In a Google search I can find reference to a USB touch screen – so presumably there is a suitable connection for this kind of screen? But I'm no expert.

    Touch screens connect to computers by USB cables that carry the touch data. That data tells the operating system where the screen is being touched. Just as a USB connection sends mouse or keyboard data.
