Use of "IF"

    We don't allow wholesale sentence correction here. Do you have a specific concern about this sentence? What troubles you here? :)

    I think that your sentence is fine using 'if' as it does. Some people prefer 'whether' in this context, ie. "Sir, could you please confirm whether we can issue licence to that company.".

    As I've indicated, sameeraj, to my mind there's nothing wrong with using 'if' in this context. Furthermore, I'm not aware of any difference in register between 'if' and 'whether', though others may differ.

    There's nothing much else wrong with this sentence save for the fact there's (arguably) an article missing before 'licence' (it should probably be be 'a licence'). :)
