Using a bit/a little bit/a tad/a little as adverbs that modify verbs

Hello,
His behavior a bit confuses me.
His behavior a little bit confuses me.
His behavior a little confuses me.
His behavior a tad confuses me.

If someone is acting strange, can I say the sentences above about him, while reducing the power of the verb by using these adverbs? I think they sound a bit odd when used to modify verbs, rather than adjectives or other adverbs. Instead, should I just use "kind of/sort of" in informal contexts, and "somewhat" in more formal contexts?
Thanks in advance.
