Using prepositions after verbs and objects.

Hi! I would like to know which sentence is right as to placing "about":
1) What did you talk to(with) him about?
2) What did you talk about to(with) him?

Thanks in advance!

There often isn't with prepositions. On the other hand, sometimes there is. It's a very murky area in English usage. Most of the "rules" really come down to "We use this preposition here because that's what we're used to." :(
