Yes. put different accent marks will turn into different meaning. Without accent marks will be misunderstanding of the meaning.
Example:
mày có về không, còn chờ. mean: will you go home, I will wait for you?
without accent marks: may co ve khong, con cho.
it can be: mày có về không, con chó. mean: will you go home, bitch?
Example:
mày có về không, còn chờ. mean: will you go home, I will wait for you?
