Let's say a factory still has 200 pairs of shoes that are really hard to sell. They will try to sell all of them before shutting down the factory after filing for bankruptcy.

Why are you selling them at a very low price?
- We're just waiting for them to sell out.

Does it sound natural?

Factories produce things. If they no longer have anything to produce there is no reason for them to stay open.

The store that sells the shoes may stay open but the factory can close.

    - Why are you selling them at a very low price?
    - We are going out of business and just need to get rid of them.

The term "bankrupt stock" is used in the UK for goods sold at a knockdown price by or on behalf of a company going bankrupt, in order to raise whatever money they can for the creditors.

    So in your scenario:
Why are you selling them at a very low price?
    - They're bankrupt stock.

    would work.
